Entering a New case into CaseDriver
Add New Client - New Document Collection
- You may determine this client has not yet been delivering documents and needs introduction to your firm.
- While you are still in your first consultation, open CaseDriver and log in.
- After logging in, look to the top right corner to see your name.
- To the left, look at the quick links in the four circles.
- Choose the FIRST circle showing an open folder.
- Using this link will let you enter the new case and your client will immediately get an email with links to upload documents and take the first online course.
- Your client will also get a text referring them to the email.
- Enter the client data.
- Enter the fee you plan to earn on the case.
- Click on the box acknowledging the CaseDriver Paralegal Terms of Service.
- Enter a case summary providing us with a general overview of the case.
- Click on the blue button to enter the case into CaseDriver.
Add Existing Client - Document Collection Begun
- You may determine this client has already been working with you and may have delivered several documents.
- Open CaseDriver and log in.
- After logging in, look to the top right corner to see your name.
- To the left, look at the quick links in the four circles.
- Choose the SECOND circle showing a closed gray colored folder.
- Using this link will let you enter the new case without the client receiving an email and text message introducing them to the firm and inviting new document delivery.
- Enter the client data.
- Enter the fee you plan to earn on the case.
- Click on the box acknowledging the CaseDriver Paralegal Terms of Service.
- Enter a case summary providing us with a general overview of the case.
- Click on the blue button to enter the case into CaseDriver.
Open the New Case in CaseDriver
- Click on the Cases icon in the Navigation menu on the far left.
- Use the case dropdown filter to find your new client by last name.
- Click on the green FIND button.
- Click on the OPEN link to the left of the case name.
START our Work - Set the Client Intake Meeting
- IMPORTANT: You have the power to start the work on your case or to put the case on hold. Your CaseDriver paralegal will not begin working on the case until you have scheduled the client for their Client Intake Meeting.

- REMINDER: The automatic generation of fees for our work begins after the Client Intake Meeting takes place. The second moment generating the fees, takes place when the case is filed with the court or submitted for attorney/client signing.
DEFER our Work - Manage the Pending Case
- IMPORTANT: You have the power to start the work on your case or to put the case on hold. Your CaseDriver paralegal will not begin working on the case until you have scheduled the client for their Client Intake Meeting.
- With the case open make sure you have the Case Tab open. This is the first tab.
- Click on the Status dropdown and choose the appropriate status to indicate the reason for your delay.
- The most common reason to delay is the client's need to pay your fees. In this instance, place the case in Pending Funds status and enter a new Note on the Notes Tab explaining the circumstance.
- If you have another reason to delay the case, place the case in Dormant status and enter a note on the Notes Tab explaining the circumstance.
- After the case is ready to move forward, place the case in New status and follow this link to learn how to schedule the Client Intake Meeting. Enter a new note on the Notes Tab explaining the change.
- IMPORTANT: You must remain vigilant as you monitor the progress of your new leads that are in one of these pending statuses. You can set Tasks to remind you to continually contact these clients. You can also set Tasks that send reminders to your clients.
