As an independent contractor you are paid by the case in multiple steps. Here is the schedule of events and the revenue you will receive.
Use the Dashboard charts and the CM Revenue pages to view your past and pending income.
If you do not see pending revenue for a case assigned to you, follow these steps:
After your revenue events are listed they will be available for you to mark them as ”Earned”. Upon completion of an event, open the CM Revenue page to find the client event and use the Pencil icon to edit the line item and check the earned box.
You may follow up with your manager as you move events to Earned Status on the CM Revenue page but management will monitor these updates on a daily basis.
A Revenue Event may be marked as Earned after the event is fully completed. Use these links to review the criteria for each event:
After an event is marked as Earned it is then eligible for payment according to the following schedule:
Payments are generally made within 7 days of eligibility status.
Generally all payments will be made through Zelle from CaseDriver. The payment date and payment method will be logged and you may search all payment history and generate reports as needed.
You may choose your work location and the hours you work. You are expected to be reasonably available for clients and attorneys during hours which are comfortable with them. You will receive contact during the business day and you can anticipate parties will expect reasonably timed responses within a day or two and at appropriate times of day. Clients and attorneys are often comfortable with evening and weekend communication as needed.
CaseDriver does not withhold taxes, social security, Medicare, unemployment insurance and any other insurance from your compensation. You must manage these expenses on your own. You must pay your own income tax at times you see fit throughout the year. Please consult with your own accountant to learn the most effective method you may use to manage income tax on the contractor payments you receive.
